Primrose of Zanesville Ranked Among Top 20 Assisted Living Communities in Ohio

ZANESVILLE, OH – The office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, a division of the Ohio Department of Aging, recently released the results of its 2017 Long-Term Care Resident Satisfaction Survey.  This survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with residents of nursing homes and assisted living communities across the state, and focused on areas related to care and everyday life.

Primrose Retirement Community of Zanesville earned a score of 95.1 in assisted living resident satisfaction, which positions them as the 19th rated assisted living community of the 687 Ohio communities that were interviewed.  The average assisted living satisfaction score statewide was 85.2.

Primrose of Duluth Hires New Sales Director

DULUTH, MN – Primrose Retirement Community of Duluth has hired Rachel Rodlund to be their new Sales Director.  She began her duties in May, and in this capacity, Rodlund will oversee all marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach, for the independent and assisted living community.

Rodlund graduated from the University of Minnesota in Duluth in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in health care management.  She has been involved in healthcare since the age of 16 when she was a Certified Nursing Assistant for a long-term care nursing facility.  She was also an account representative and a care coordinator in a primary care clinic before joining Primrose.

“The first moment I stepped in the door at Primrose I felt welcome,” Rodlund said.  “Staff and residents were so kind and spoke so highly of Primrose, and I knew it was where I wanted to be,” she added.

Primrose of Marion Hires New Director of Nursing

MARION, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Marion has hired Laura Tramontana to be their new Director of Nursing.  She began her duties in May, and in this role Tramontana will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Bonnie Stepanian, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Tramontana attended Tri-Rivers School of Practical Nursing and MidCentral School of Nursing, and is currently finishing nursing-related course work at Purdue University Northwest.  She has been involved in nursing since 2001, mainly working in emergency department settings.

“I came to Primrose because I was impressed with the beauty of the community and the kindness of the staff,” Tramontana said.  “I look forward to working with the team at Primrose of Marion as we continue enhancing and enriching the lives of seniors in our community,” she added.

MARION, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Marion has hired Robert Landon to be their new Sales Director.  Landon began his duties in May, and in this capacity, he will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts as well as public relations events and community outreach for Primrose of Marion.

Landon graduated from Tri-Rivers Career Center with a focus on public safety services.  He brings experience as a former store manager with Sprint and a manager at Lendmark Financial Services with him to Primrose.  He also serves on the Marion City Council.

“I want my work to be fulfilling and have a purpose,” Landon said.  “I believe being at Primrose provides me with that opportunity.  We have wonderful staff and residents who are always friendly and welcoming to everyone,” he added.

Primrose of Mankato Hires New Executive Director

MANKATO, MN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mankato has hired Lori Pietsch to be their new Executive Director.  In her new role, Pietsch will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.  She began her duties on April 12th.

Pietsch is a graduate of Mankato State University and holds a degree in business education.  Pietsch was formerly the Sales Director at Primrose of Mankato and she brings 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry with her to Primrose.  “I am excited to be a part of the energy and excitement of this beautiful community,” Pietsch said.

“Lori is a welcome addition to the Primrose team,” said Primrose Regional Operations Manager Tami Davis.  “We’re very excited to have her.  Lori’s knowledge, experience, and passion will help Primrose continue in our mission of providing the best living experience and highest quality of life for our residents.”

Primrose of Appleton Hires New Director of Nursing

APPLETON, WI – Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton has hired Kathleen Cowling to be their new Director of Nursing.  She began her duties in April, and in this role Cowling will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Breeze Skorupski, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Cowling brings 34 years in geriatric care with her to Primrose.  She has worked in skilled nursing and assisted living settings.  “I have managed nursing staff before in other communities,” said Cowling.  “But I have never opened a new one.  I am so excited to assist the seniors in our community and to help them to feel comfortable in their new home,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton, located at 5715 N Meade St., is expected to be open in the fall of 2018.  It will be built by Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. and is being financed by Investors Community Bank.  When open, the retirement community expects to employ approximately 50 people.

FINDLAY, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Findlay has hired Renee Basham to be their new Director of Nursing.  She began her duties in January, and in this role Basham will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director April Mangett, manage the memory care nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Basham, a graduate of James A. Rhodes State College, brings nursing experience in intensive care and open heart surgical settings as well as in case management.  “I came to work for Primrose because I wanted to have the time to take care of others and provide them with the respect and dignity they deserve,” Basham said.  I am very excited to get to know our residents and their families,” she added.

Wilkinson has a degree in social work from Ball State University and brings over 30 years of experience in a variety of healthcare and residential settings with her to Primrose.  “I love working with seniors and helping them remain independent and active as they enjoy their retirement,” Wilkinson said.  “Primrose provides just such an opportunity, and I am privileged to be a part of this team,” she added.

Arendt brings more than ten years of experience in senior living with her to Primrose.  “I started as a CNA in high school, became an LPN, and then continued my schooling to become an RN,” said Arendt.  “As I worked my way up the ladder, I gained a greater understanding of the many roles and responsibilities of all types of nursing staff, which will help me greatly at Primrose,” she added.
