Primrose of Mankato Hires New Executive Director

MANKATO, MN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mankato has hired Lori Pietsch to be their new Executive Director.  In her new role, Pietsch will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.  She began her duties on April 12th.

Pietsch is a graduate of Mankato State University and holds a degree in business education.  Pietsch was formerly the Sales Director at Primrose of Mankato and she brings 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry with her to Primrose.  “I am excited to be a part of the energy and excitement of this beautiful community,” Pietsch said.

“Lori is a welcome addition to the Primrose team,” said Primrose Regional Operations Manager Tami Davis.  “We’re very excited to have her.  Lori’s knowledge, experience, and passion will help Primrose continue in our mission of providing the best living experience and highest quality of life for our residents.”

Primrose Retirement Community of Mankato, located at 1360 Adams Street, consists of 34 independent living apartments and 23 assisted-living apartments.

Primrose of Appleton Hires New Director of Nursing

APPLETON, WI – Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton has hired Kathleen Cowling to be their new Director of Nursing.  She began her duties in April, and in this role Cowling will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Breeze Skorupski, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Cowling brings 34 years in geriatric care with her to Primrose.  She has worked in skilled nursing and assisted living settings.  “I have managed nursing staff before in other communities,” said Cowling.  “But I have never opened a new one.  I am so excited to assist the seniors in our community and to help them to feel comfortable in their new home,” she added.

“We are thrilled to have Kathleen on our team,” said Breeze Skorupski, Executive Director at Primrose of Appleton.  “Her love for the senior population is evident, and we are looking forward to a great future here in Appleton,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton, located at 5715 N Meade St., is expected to be open in the fall of 2018.  It will be built by Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction, Inc. and is being financed by Investors Community Bank.  When open, the retirement community expects to employ approximately 50 people.

Primrose of Findlay Hires New Director of Nursing

FINDLAY, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Findlay has hired Renee Basham to be their new Director of Nursing.  She began her duties in January, and in this role Basham will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director April Mangett, manage the memory care nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Basham, a graduate of James A. Rhodes State College, brings nursing experience in intensive care and open heart surgical settings as well as in case management.  “I came to work for Primrose because I wanted to have the time to take care of others and provide them with the respect and dignity they deserve,” Basham said.  I am very excited to get to know our residents and their families,” she added.

Primrose of Anderson Hires New Sales Director

ANDERSON, IN. – Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson has hired Brenda Wilkinson to be their new Sales Director.  She began her duties on April 11, and in this capacity, Wilkinson will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach, for Primrose of Anderson.

Wilkinson has a degree in social work from Ball State University and brings over 30 years of experience in a variety of healthcare and residential settings with her to Primrose.  “I love working with seniors and helping them remain independent and active as they enjoy their retirement,” Wilkinson said.  “Primrose provides just such an opportunity, and I am privileged to be a part of this team,” she added.

ANDERSON, IN. – Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson has hired Kari Alcorn to be their new Executive Director.  She began her duties on March 29, and in this capacity, Alcorn will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

Alcorn brings eight years of skilled nursing experience with her to Primrose.  “This is a wonderful place to work,” Alcorn said.  “Everyone I have encountered has been wonderful, and it is easy to see that Primrose truly cares about its residents and wants to make their lives better in every way,” she added.

APPLETON, WI – Primrose Retirement Community of Appleton has hired Stacy Arendt to be their new Memory Care Nursing Director.  She began her duties in January, and in this role Arendt will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Breeze Skorupski, manage the memory care nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Arendt brings more than ten years of experience in senior living with her to Primrose.  “I started as a CNA in high school, became an LPN, and then continued my schooling to become an RN,” said Arendt.  “As I worked my way up the ladder, I gained a greater understanding of the many roles and responsibilities of all types of nursing staff, which will help me greatly at Primrose,” she added.

KOKOMO, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Kokomo has hired Sherry Kappus to be the new Director of Nursing for the independent and assisted living community. In this role, Kappus will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Monica Martin, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Kappus, a graduate of Ivy Tech School of Nursing in Kokomo, is excited to join the Primrose staff.  “I chose Primrose because of its excellent reputation in the region,” Kappus said.  “I am excited to work with this great staff and to get to know our residents,” she added.

“We are very excited that Sherry has joined our management team,” said Primrose Executive Director Monica Martin.  “She has some wonderful experience, and more importantly, she will bring a great deal of passion and energy for our residents. I have no doubt that she will help take Primrose to the next level.”
