Tammy Barker Named Memory Care Director of Nursing at Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson

ANDERSON, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson has hired Tammy Barker to be Director of Nursing for their memory care services.  She began her duties on July 17th.  In this role, Barker will guide and oversee the care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Kevin Spaugh, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Barker brings extensive nursing experience with her to Primrose.  “I am excited to help provide person centered care for memory care residents here, and  I look forward to putting my experience and passion to work here as we strive to provide the best experience for our residents and their families,” Baker said.

The Primrose of Anderson Memory Care Community, located at 2101 N. Madison Avenue, consists of 24 memory care suites.  It features a number of amenities including an enclosed exterior courtyard, numerous flower beds, walking paths, a coffee bar, train depot, beauty salon, and devotional chapel to name a few.

Jennifer Liggitt Named Sales Director at Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka has hired Jennifer Liggitt to be their Sales Director.  She began her duties on July 26.  In this capacity Liggitt will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach, for the retirement community.

Liggitt brings 20 years of healthcare experience with her to Primrose.  She has worked in long term care, assisted living, independent living, social services, marketing, and activities settings during that time.  “I am looking forward to meeting new residents, future residents, and their families,” said Liggitt.  “I love to build relationships with people and look forward to serving the seniors in our community,” she added.

“We are excited to have Jennifer on the team,” said Executive Director Leah Bennett.  “Her experience in the industry is very much appreciated and we are very excited about what the future holds,” she added.

Autumn Edgington Named Memory Care Director of Nursing at Primrose Retirement Community of Rogers

ROGERS, AR – Primrose Retirement Community of Rogers has hired Autumn Edgington to be the Director of Nursing for their memory care services.  She began in July, and in this role, Edgington will guide and oversee the overall care of memory care residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Chris Clifton, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Edgington has a degree in nursing from Merrac College in San Diego, CA.  The United States Army veteran brings with her experience working in surgical settings, obstetrics and gynecology, labor and delivery, geriatrics, obstetrics, and memory care.

“I came to Primrose, in part, because I wanted to be a part of the new culture being created here,” Edgington said.  “Opening a new community is exciting, and I very much looking forward to serving our residents and staff in my new position,” she added.

Julie DeCalonne Named Director of Nursing at Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka has hired Julie DeCalonne as their new Director of Nursing.  In this role, she will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Leah Bennett, manage the nursing staff.  DeCalonne, who began in her position on July 17, will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

DeCalonne is a graduate of Ivy Tech in Madison, IN, and is currently attending Western Governors University in pursuit of a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing.  She has worked in long-term care the majority of her nursing career, but also has experience in psychiatric nursing and in surgical units.

I love seniors, and as soon as I toured Primrose I knew I wanted to be a part of helping these residents live their lives to the fullest,” said DeCalonne.  “I think I bring a caring, servant heart to this amazing team – and I will do whatever to help serve our residents and staff,” she added.

Kevin Spaugh Named Executive Director at Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson

ANDERSON, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Anderson has hired Kevin Spaugh to be their new Executive Director. He began his duties on July 10th, and in this capacity, Spaugh will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

Spaugh is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He has experience in skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care environments.

“Primrose is located in my home town, and it has a wonderful reputation as a premier provider of senior living in Madison County,” said Spaugh. “I am honored to serve here, and excited to work with such wonderful residents and staff,” he added.

Krista Graham Named Sales Director at Primrose Retirement Community of Lancaster

LANCASTER, OH – Primrose of Lancaster has hired Krista Graham to be their new Sales Director.  She began her duties in May, and in this capacity Graham oversees all the marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach, for Primrose of Lancaster.

Graham has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University.  She taught high school English for many years before working for Hawthorn Retirement in Pickerington, where she worked in marketing.

“My own family has struggled with finding care for loved ones as they age,” Graham said.  “I hope I can help to lessen the stress for other families and help them be more proactive rather than reactive,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh Hires New Memory Care Director of Nursing

NEWBURGH, IN – Primrose of Newburgh has hired Derek Fox as their memory care Director of Nursing.  He began his duties on May 15 and in this role, Fox will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Carla Grimwood, manage the memory care nursing staff.  He will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Fox has obtained degrees from Vincennes University (licensed practical nurse), Wabash Valley College (Associate of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse), and Purdue University Northwest (Bachelor of Science in Nursing.)  He has experience in skilled care, assisted living, staff development, pediatrics, and emergency room work.

“The beauty of the campus during its construction was what initially drew me to Primrose,” said Fox.  “I soon learned that, beyond the beauty of the campus, Primrose stood apart from other communities sue to their vision.  Their attention to detail shows me that the care about their residents and staff, and I am honored to be working here,” he added.

SHAWNEE, OK – Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee has hired Carrie Elmore to be their new Sales Director.  She began her duties on April 28.  In this capacity, Elmore will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach, for Primrose of Shawnee.

Elmore is a graduate of the University of Texas.  Before joining Primrose, she was a licensed practical nurse for more 17 years with experience in long term care, assisted living, and mental health care.

“The degree of passion that the staff feel for their residents was evident the moment I walked through the door,” Elmore said.  “I was surrounded by people who love to take care of others, just as I do.  I knew I wanted to be a part of that, to help change peoples’ lives for the better,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee, located at 1905 N. Bryan Avenue, consists of 36 independent living apartments, 40 assisted living apartments, and four townhome villas. The community opened in 2013.

Primrose of Lancaster Hires New Executive Director

LANCASTER, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Lancaster has hired Tracy Billingsley to be their Executive Director.  She began her duties on March 22 and in this capacity, Billingsley will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

Billingsley graduated from Hocking College and brings senior living experience in dietary management, sales, life enrichment, and administration with her to Primrose.  “I always like to look at a company’s core values and mission statement, and I was excited by what Primrose is doing for their residents,” Billingsley said.  “What excites me the most is to see those core values being played out in how we treat our residents and our employees now that I am working here,” she added.

Primrose of Gillette Hires New Director of Nursing

GILLETTE, WY – Primrose Retirement Community of Gillette has hired Dawn Tiegs to be their new Director of Nursing.  Tiegs began her duties on March 1.  In this role, she will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Nancy Mills, manage the nursing staff.  She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Tiegs has an associate of science degree in nursing from Casper College and has worked as a nurse in long-term care, memory care, and assisted living settings.  She began at Primrose as a staff nurse in 2015 before becoming Assistant Director of Nursing in 2016 and then Director of Nursing in 2017.

“What excited me most about becoming Director or Nursing is the opportunity to lead such a great team,” Tiegs said.  “The camaraderie that we all share here is uplifting and our residents thrive in that kind of atmosphere,” she added.
