NEWBURGH, IN – Primrose of Newburgh has hired Tonya Pitt as their new Memory Care Director of Nursing. She began her duties on September 19th and in this role Pitt will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Executive Director Carla Grimwood, manage the nursing staff. She will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.
Pitt has a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Western Kentucky University and an associate degree in nursing from Columbia State Community College. She has worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years, including four years in hospice care and nine years in psychiatric nursing.
“I look forward to getting to know all of or residents and going above and beyond to provide a person-centered approach to care,” Pitt said. “I have tremendous respect for the knowledge, heart, and commitment that the Primrose team brings to the table each and every day,” she added.
Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh is expected to be open in the spring of 2017. When open, the retirement community expects to employ 50-60 people.
