Decatur Primrose Maintenance Manager Named Employee of Year

DECATUR, IL – Primrose Retirement Communities, L.L.C. has named Doug Durbin as their Employee of the Year.  The announcement was made on April 15th, during the company’s annual Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA.

Durbin serves as the Maintenance Manager at Primrose Retirement Community of Decatur.  In that capacity, he oversees overall inspection, repair and general maintenance of common areas and other interior/exterior areas, as well as overseeing outside vendors.

“Doug has been here since the day we opened,” said Decatur Executive Director Leslie Strohl.  “He understands Primrose and our residents, and I feel that he has made Primrose his mission, not his job,” she added.

“Employees like Doug are exactly what makes Primrose great and what sets us apart,” said Primrose Retirement Communities President BJ Schaefbauer.  “We feel very lucky that he is a part of our team.  Doug makes a difference in the lives of our residents every day, and we’re proud to recognize him for all of his hard work and dedication.”

The Primrose Employee of the Year award is given annually, and the winner is chosen from more than 1500 employees at 31 Primrose communities across the country.

Primrose of Decatur, located at 1145 West Arbor Drive, consists of 33 Independent Living apartments, 35 Assisted Living apartments, and 12 Townhome Villas.
