Primrose of Mishawaka Announces New Sales Director

MISHAWAKA, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka has hired Michelle Covert to be their Sales Director.  She began her duties on March 30th, and in this capacity Covert will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts, as well as public relations events and community outreach for the retirement community.

Covert brings with her twelve years of experience working in physical therapy, and 8 years of regional therapy management experience.  “Primrose and I share the same beliefs when it comes to providing quality care in a retirement community,” Covert said.  “I am truly excited to meet and get to know our senior community while assisting them with their retirement needs,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka is located at 820 Fulmer Road.  Expected to open in the summer of 2015, the community will consist of 36 independent living apartment homes, 40 assisted living apartment homes, and eight townhome villas.

Decatur Primrose Maintenance Manager Named Employee of Year

DECATUR, IL – Primrose Retirement Communities, L.L.C. has named Doug Durbin as their Employee of the Year.  The announcement was made on April 15th, during the company’s annual Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA.

Durbin serves as the Maintenance Manager at Primrose Retirement Community of Decatur.  In that capacity, he oversees overall inspection, repair and general maintenance of common areas and other interior/exterior areas, as well as overseeing outside vendors.

“Doug has been here since the day we opened,” said Decatur Executive Director Leslie Strohl.  “He understands Primrose and our residents, and I feel that he has made Primrose his mission, not his job,” she added.

Wausau CNA Awarded Scholarship

WAUSAU, WI – Primrose Retirement Communities, L.L.C. has named Darren Siewert of Wausau as a recipient of their annual $1000 Education Scholarship.  The formal announcement was made on April 15th, during the company’s annual Leadership Conference in San Diego, CA.

Siewert is a CNA at Primrose Retirement Community of Wausau, and he also attends Colorado State University where he is majoring in Healthcare Management.  He aspires to one day obtain a management role in a senior living setting.

“My job at Primrose has been the most satisfying of my life,” Siewert said.  “I enjoy knowing that our work has a direct impact on the quality of our residents’ lives.  The care we provide has an enormous impact on our residents and the entire community, and I am proud to be a part of it,” he added.

“Darren has great potential, and it is a priority for us here at Primrose to invest in our employees and in the next generation of health care professionals,” said Primrose Retirement Communities President BJ Schaefbauer.  “We’re glad to be able to help him pursue his education, and we’re proud to have him on our team.”

Perdue is a CNA at Primrose Retirement Community of Pueblo, and she also attends Colorado State University – Pueblo where she is majoring in nursing.

“Nursing runs in my family, so I knew from a very early age that it was the career path I would also pursue,” Perdue said.  “My employment with Primrose has been wonderful, because it gives me on-the-job training in the essential skills necessary to become a nurse.  I look forward to work because every day increases my confidence,” she added.
