FINDLAY, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Findlay has hired Susan Gehring to be their new Director of Marketing.  In this role, she will oversee all the marketing and sales efforts as well as public relations events and community outreach for Primrose.  Gehring, who began her duties on July 18th, is taking the place of former Sales Director April Mangett who is now the Executive Director for the independent and assisted living community.

Primrose of Mishawaka Hires New Director of Nursing

MISHAWAKA, IN – Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka has hired Melissa Love as their new Director of Nursing.  In this role, she will guide and oversee the overall care of residents and, in conjunction with Interim Executive Director Shelly McFall, manage the nursing staff.  Love, who began in her position on July 6th, will also ensure compliance with all necessary regulations.

Love’s nursing experience includes time in critical care and intensive care.  She has also been a clinical education director in a long term care setting where she was in charge of staff development, infection control and risk management.

“I came to Primrose because I have always had a desire to work with the senior population,” Love said.  “Primrose and I share the same values and I knew this was home for me the moment I stepped in the front door,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Mishawaka is located at 820 Fulmer Road.  Expected to open in 2015, the community will consist of 36 independent living apartment homes, 40 assisted living apartment homes, and eight townhome villas.

Primrose of Findlay Hires New Executive Director

FINDLAY, OH – Primrose Retirement Community of Findlay has hired former Sales Director April Mangett to be their new Executive Director.  She began her duties on June 15 and in this capacity Mangett will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

Mangett has Bachelor of Arts degrees in public relations and communications from Heidelberg University.  She has been with Primrose since February of 2014, and prior to that, worked in skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living and home health for 12 years.

“I am excited to take my career to the next level while being able to remain at Primrose caring for our residents,” Mangett said.  My daily commitment is to ensure that each resident feels safe, connected and valued,” she added.

Primrose of Newburgh Hires New Executive Director

NEWBURGH, IN – Primrose of Newburgh has hired Carla Grimwood as their new Executive Director.  She began her duties on June 1 and in this capacity Grimwood will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.  Since Primrose is currently under construction, much of Grimwood’s early efforts will revolve around hiring staff and educating the community about Primrose and the services they provide for area seniors.

Grimwood has an associate degree in business management from Lockyear College.  She has been in the senior living arena since 1998 and is coming to Primrose from Atria Senior Living where she was an Executive Director for the past eight years.

“I am very excited to help open a new community,” Grimwood said.  “I enjoy being able to wear many hats and am very proud of the work being done here.  Our team is very excited to be working for Primrose and to give our future residents a wonderful senior living experience,” she added.

Primrose Retirement Community of Newburgh is expected to be open in the spring of 2017.  When open, the retirement community expects to employ approximately 30 people.

Olson, a Licensed Practical Nurse, brings with her eight years of experience in case management and utilization review, five years of experience in skilled nursing and rehab, and two years of sales experience as a licensed realtor with her to Primrose.

Previous work experience includes two years with the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Member Services and Event and Business Development Manager for Harr Motors, not to mention several years as the Assistant Vice-President and Store Manager of Wells Fargo Bank in Hutchinson, MN.  Rehder also serving in various roles in the community including the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Junior Achievement-Aberdeen Executive Board and Table of Plenty.

Wristen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from Colorado State University in Pueblo and is a 2012 recipient of their Distinguished Alumni Award.  She brings with her more than 30 years of marketing, business development, communications, community relations, special events, and fundraising experience.

“What excites me is reaching out and developing relationships with future residents and their families, as well as professional referral sources,” Wristen said.  “I enjoy hearing our current and future residents’ life experiences and how to guide them through the transition into their new home in our community,” she added.

Primrose of Kansas City Hires new Executive Director

KANSAS CITY, MO – Primrose Retirement Community of Kansas City has hired Jeff Walters to be their new Executive Director.  He began his duties in May, and in this capacity, Walters will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community.

Prior to joining the Primrose team, Walters was the administrator for a skilled nursing facility at Scotland County Care Center.  “My goal is to be a hedge of protection for our residents,” Walters said.  “I plan to run our community with empowering leadership and am proud to be surrounded by quality, passionate, proactive visionaries who also love to take care of our aging community,” he added.

“We’re very excited to have Jeff in his new role,” said Primrose Regional Operations Manager Tami Davis.  “His enthusiasm and drive will help Primrose continue in our mission of providing an amazing experience for our incredible residents.  We’re confident that he and his team will do great things for Primrose of Kansas City.”

Primrose of Pueblo to Host Ribbon-Cutting for New Villas

PUEBLO, CO – Primrose Retirement Community of Pueblo will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their newly-constructed townhome villas on Tuesday, June 14 from 4-6 pm.  There will be a brief ceremony and blessing followed by music, refreshments and tours of the new villa complex.

In addition to the 20 new 1600 square-foot villas, a central clubhouse has also been built which provides a fitness center, TV lounge, and several other amenities for the villa residents to utilize at their leisure.
